DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 01 Gauteng / Other – Kruger National Park, Skukza Main Rest Camp
My home base is in Springs (Gauteng), outside Johannesburg where the guided tour will start. However, if you are from outside Gauteng province, then we will meet at Paul Kruger Gate (Kruger National Park) on DAY 01 on the morning (12:00hrs) of the start of the tour.

Camping essentials such as food and drinks should be considered for purchase before departing Gauteng / other or on-route. However, the campsites do have in-camp stores to purchase the necessaries.

Depart from Gauteng (JHB / Pretoria) on a +-06-hour drive via N12, N4 etc., to the Kruger National Park.

DAY 01 Gauteng / Other – Kruger National Park, Skukuza. (Enter via Paul Kruger Gate & check-in at Skukuza Main Rest Camp).

Skukuza Main Rest Camp Rest Camp is the hub of the park & headquarters, and situated in the south of the Kruger.

DAY 04 Depart Skukuza – Maroela Satellite Camp
Overnight: Maroela 
Meals: Self catering
Activities: Guided self drive in own vehicle to Maroela. The route will be determined by reported sightings, rainfall & game migration. The area is known for giraffe, zebra, elephant, wildebeest, warthog.
Optional: 3 hr sunset drive and 3 hr morning guided walk with Sanpark’s guide at own cost.

Maroela Satellite Camp is situated is situated near Orpen Gate. It does not have restaurants, chalets, shopping facilities etc.. It is a rustic camp, away from the hustle & bustle of the main rest camps, for one to fully experience and enjoy nature.

Tsendze rustic camp is situated is situated near Mopani Main Rest Camp. It does not have restaurants, chalets, shopping facilities etc.. It is a rustic camp, away from the hustle & bustle of the main rest camps, for one to fully experience and enjoy nature.

Punda Maria Main Rest Camp is situated is situated near Punda Maria Gate in the northern part of the Kruger.

DAY 13 Depart Punda Maria – Gauteng / Other
Activities: Guided game self drive until noon is optional. Duration of game drive will depend on clients’ travel schedule to Gauteng / Other.

Depart to Gauteng / Other.

It is expected from clients on guided self drive camping tours to assist with general camping duties & conduct own camp set-up.
Accommodation can vary from the itinerary depending on availability.
