Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld, Kruger offers a world-class wildlife experience with unparalleled diversity. It is home to 336 tree species, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds, and 147 mammals, and leads in environmental management techniques.
Truly the flagship of the South African National Parks, this enormous and magnificent park is one of the most popular public-entry game parks in the world.
The world-renowned Kruger National Park is South Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary with nearly 2 million ha (4.9 million acres) of unrivalled wilderness and wildlife land.
The park boasts 12 (main) rest camps, 5 bushveld camps, 4 satellite camps, 2 bushveld lodges, 1 border camp, 1 rustic camp, 2 sleep-over hides.

Kruger National Park is situated in northeastern South Africa, and the game park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. Diverse population of wild animals includes the Big Five (5) – Cape Buffalo, African Elephant, Leopard, Lion & Black Rhino. The term “Big Five” originated with big-game hunters in the 19th and 20th centuries, referring to the Five (5) most difficult / dangerous animals to hunt & shoot on foot in Africa, hence in authenticity, the White Rhino is not part of the “official” Big Five (5). There are many other mammals living in this vast area , as do diverse bird species such as vultures, eagles and storks. Mountains, bush plains and tropical forests are all part of the landscape.
